Hismith Sex Machines: Models, Attachments, and Buying Guide
1 October 2024 · 9 min read
Sex machines sit at the expensive end of the sex toy market and have a reputation for being a niche enthusiast product. Hismith has done more than any other brand to change that — their machines are priced at roughly £200–500, they are well-distributed, and their app-control integration has brought remote operation within reach of non-technical buyers. They are the de-facto starting point for anyone researching their first sex machine.
This guide covers how Hismith machines work, which models are worth considering, what attachments do, and what to expect.
How Hismith Machines Work
All Hismith machines use the same core mechanism: a motor drives a reciprocating arm that moves a dildo or attachment forward and backward. The speed of reciprocation (strokes per minute), stroke depth, and angle are the primary variables.
Speed is controlled either via a physical dial on the machine or via the companion app (on app-enabled models). Most Hismith machines operate from roughly 20 strokes per minute (very slow) to 240+ strokes per minute (fast).
Stroke depth is the distance the arm moves per stroke. On Hismith machines this is typically adjustable, usually between 3cm and 15cm, set either mechanically (with a collar adjustment) or via the app.
Attachments connect to the machine's arm via a "KlicLok" system — a quarter-turn bayonet mount that Hismith uses across their product line. KlicLok means any Hismith attachment is compatible with any Hismith machine. The attachment library includes dozens of dildos in different shapes, sizes, and textures.
The Machine Line
Hismith Premium Traveler and Pro Traveler
The entry-level machines and the most commonly purchased. Smaller, lighter (2–3kg), and less powerful than the full-size machines, but adequate for most users. The Traveler range lacks the full stroke depth adjustment of higher-end models and tops out at lower speeds, but for a first machine they represent a sensible starting point without overcommitting.
Price: approximately £180–250.
Hismith Premium Sex Machine (Table Edge)
The standard full-size machine. Table-edge mount means it clamps to the edge of a bed, table, or bench and the arm extends from there. More stable than a freestanding design, with better stroke depth range and higher top speeds than the Traveler.
The table-edge design is a practical commitment — you need a surface at the right height and a stable clamp point. For bedroom use, most beds and desks work. The arm angle is adjustable through a range that covers most common positions.
Price: approximately £250–350.
Hismith Premium 3.0 and App-Enabled Machines
The top of the consumer Hismith range. Adds full app control (iOS and Android), longer stroke depth, quiet motor with noise reduction, and a broader speed range. App control enables pre-programmed patterns, sync-to-music features, and remote control from a phone.
The noise reduction is a genuine improvement over entry-level models — the 3.0 operates at noticeably lower volume, which matters for users in shared living situations.
Price: approximately £350–500.
Attachments: What They Are and How They Work
The KlicLok attachment library is one of Hismith's main selling points. Attachments are dildos designed to mount onto the reciprocating arm and are sold separately from the machine.
Key things to know:
Diameter matters more than length in machine use. The machine controls the stroke length; the attachment's insertable length determines maximum depth, but the machine won't exceed its physical stroke range regardless. Attachment diameter and texture are what primarily differentiate the experience.
Most attachments are TPE, not silicone. This is the main materials compromise in the Hismith line. Their own-brand attachments are largely TPE rather than platinum-cured silicone — porous material with the associated hygiene limitations. Use with a condom if hygiene or cleaning is a concern. Tantus and a small number of other silicone-attachment manufacturers make KlicLok-compatible attachments in body-safe silicone, at higher prices.
Start with a moderate diameter. Machine use with an attachment that is too large is more intensely uncomfortable than the same size used manually, because the machine controls the pace and does not self-regulate as a person would. Start with an attachment that is within your established comfortable range.
Practical Considerations Before Buying
Space. Hismith machines range from lunchbox-sized (Traveler) to small-appliance-sized (full table-edge models). The full-size machines need a clear surface, storage space, and access to the edge of a bed or table.
Noise. All sex machines make noise. Entry-level Hismith machines are notably audible. App-enabled 3.0 models are quieter but still audible beyond a closed bedroom door at moderate settings. This is a practical factor in most living situations.
Setup time. The machine requires 2–5 minutes to set up each use: mount the clamp, attach the arm, connect the attachment, adjust the angle, plug in or charge. This is not burdensome, but it is different from a toy you pick up and use immediately.
Cleaning. Machine bodies wipe down with a damp cloth. Attachments clean as per their material — TPE attachments with soap and water, silicone attachments by boiling if desired.
Who It's For
Hismith machines suit users who want sustained, hands-free stimulation with adjustable speed and depth, who find manual use tiring or uncomfortable, who want to explore different sensations without a partner, or who want a machine element in partnered play. The app control on the premium models also works well for remote-control scenarios with a partner.
They are not ideal for users who live in shared accommodation with limited noise tolerance, users who want spontaneous use without setup, or users primarily interested in vibration (machines do not vibrate — they thrust).
